Homeland Defenders Refired is a tower defense game where you're trying to defend your homeland from the invaders. These invaders go from random citizens to gods who control reality itself. The waves begin automatically after one is already defeated. Your defenders (or towers) don't seem like they're as strong, but they can do lots of damage. The base game (no modifiers) has none of the aforementioned gods that control reality. A certain modifier has the weakest kind of them replace the final boss. The Randomizer modifier could make you see the higher-ups in a few moments. Don't expect to get far there, though.

Controls:

Click a tower in the shop to select it, then click somewhere on the map to place it there.

Enter - Fast forward

Space - Hold to show the entirety of a message, release to skip the message

QWERTYUIOPASDFGHJKLZ - Tower hotkeys

Comma - Upgrade left path

Period - Upgrade right path

Semicolon - Slow the game down to 10FPS (It won't seem laggy, TurboWarp's interpolation will make it smooth as ever)

1 - Set the wave number

2 - Spawn an enemy

3 - Kill all enemies onscreen

Changelog (from newest to oldest):

- The game is in what I'll consider to be its Beta! So many features have been realized, updates to features have been made, but we still have a ways to go before it becomes complete. Many towers are missing upgrades, especially tier 5's, the campaign has been ignored for the longest time, more maps are to come, more bosses may come out, more achievements might come out, page 2 is insanely empty, and the encyclopedia is unfinished, among other things. Stay tuned for the Gamma stage.

- Fixed bugs and layering, gave Builder two more upgrades, made some balance changes, updated the credits, and the game now has Achievements. There are currently 23 achievements.

- Fixed a few more bugs, made a few minor balance changes, gave upgrade icons to every upgrade without them, and the Cannoneer and Watergunner both have two new upgrades.

- Fixed a few bugs, enlarged the credits reel, renamed Hwachva back to Hwacha, altered the experience system, and added not one, but TWO new bosses: The Disruptor and the Reanimator, both of which being suggested by 5C_NVC, the creator of the original Homeland Defenders.

- Fixed layering a lot more. fixed many bugs, towers and enemies have been balanced, fixed the description of the Sun Worship upgrade, renamed Hwacha to Hwachva (oh wait it's actually spelled Hwacha), Hwachva and Arrow Storm now shoot arrows forward in a pattern, the cannoneer's tower icon has a brown background to represent the fact that cannons are old technology, and a brand new feature is in the game: Bosses. Bosses show up on one wave, and your goal is to, obviously, kill them. After getting far enough, the boss will return in its next tier with more health, as well as improved abilities and/or entirely new abilities. There's currently only one boss: The Shinobi.

- Fixed layering even more, wave 40 now has music, wave 40 on endless mode spawns twice as many groups of enemies as a normal wave, waves 18 and 50 now have more groups of enemies instead of larger groups of enemies, tons of balance changes were made, towers have new icons that are color-coded to represent certain eras, you can press semicolon to slow the game down, and ridiculously absurd mode has been greatly changed. It now shows enemies as voided enemies with greyscale coloring, all enemies have triple defense, the menus are changed to be grayscale when ridiculously absurd mode is selected, the main menu music is slowed down when ridiculously absurd, and there's completely new music. There are tracks that play through waves 9-17, 18-39, 40-49, and 50+.

- Fixed the green flag. pause button, and stop button not showing up, fixed layering, wave 18 in endless spawns twice as many enemies as a normal wave, wave 50 spawns triple the amount of enemies compared to a normal wave, and endless ramping has been nerfed.

- Added one new cheat code, buffed every paragon as well as a few other towers, added new dialogue, and added a new modifier, which was added to the original Homeland Defenders as a difficulty: Endless.

- Towers can no longer be placed in the main menu, Clubman has two new upgrades, a new enemy has been added, and sandbox allows you to change paragon degrees, health multipliers, and speed multipliers, and lets you add modifiers mid-game. Three cheat codes (nyoom, nani, and slowmo) were removed as a result.

- Towers can no longer be placed on the track via a bug, hotkeys have been rearranged, and towers now have hotkeys.

- Watcher of Clusterverse's health regeneration is 5x as fast, towers' range no longer behaves weirdly while the tower is being placed, a new map has been added. and playing on baby mode or on the new map prevents you from seeing the credits.

- Five new cheat codes, one new modifier (Apocalypse, which used to be in the game, but was bugged), and some bug fixes.

- The heart symbol darkens as you lose lives, made some balance changes, and made it so Corruption mode doesn't give you lives from summoned enemies or when shielded knights/forcefielded elite knights/corrupted warpers are destroyed.

- Fixed a few things and added a new modifier: Corruption.

- Your level can't exceed 200, four new cheat codes are added, a new Laser Cannon upgrade has been added, paragon degree gains have been reworked, and the Raygunner now has a paragon.

- Saving has been truly actually legitimately seriously 111% fixed and a new Drone upgrade has been added.

- Saving has been truly actually legitimately 110% fixed, exp now REALLY can't be obtained in sandbox, Res has been fixed, four new cheat codes were added, and some balance changes were made (Crossbower upgrades (T5s and paragon) disable stun capabilities and paragon degrees providing overall better progression).

- Saving has been truly actually 101.11% fixed, two upgrades were added, the axeman has an upgrade become pricier, and the water detection system has been changed.

- Saving has been truly 101.1% fixed, enemies were nerfed, stage 4 was finished, three new cheats were added, and Electro Zapper now has a paragon.

- Fixed the saving bug (hopefully 101% for real).

- There's a new Drone upgrade, the strongest enemies were nerfed again, saving has been fixed (hopefully for real this time), and the Drone and Pomegranate Tree were nerfed overall.

- Campaign stage 3 is finished, 4 has been started, Armored enemies and Droidsprinter Gen.1's are nerfed, and stats are no longer shown (I should remove the corresponding dialogue as well).

- Campaign stage 3 has been extended, Apex of Reality is fully functional, and sandbox mode now has cheat codes. As of this update, there are six codes.

- Saving has been fixed again, and the campaign now has a level select.

- Turbo Mode can now be enabled (press P), the graphics are higher quality, a new wave was added to the main game, maps now have descriptions and exp multipliers,  and THE GAME IS NOW IN WIDESCREEN! Now the game has a resolution of 960x540 instead of the pitiful 480x360. Tracks are longer as a result.

- One new Watergunner upgrade, Raygunner has been fixed to work right, stage 2 is complete, saving has been fixed, layering has been fixed, the counters support more digits, and the game runs at its normal pace with interpolation.

(The changelog changed after this point. Everything below shows each individual change.)

- The music has been converted to MP3 so that the game takes up less storage. This should make the game load faster.

- The strongest enemies in the game were nerfed again.

- Fixed a bug where the Watergunner can do double damage.

- Stage 2 of the campaign has been given two more waves.

- Many of the toughest enemies were nerfed.

- The bug where two songs can play at once is fixed.

- Watergunner has a new upgrade: Citric Acid. This upgrade gives the Watergunner 1 damage.

- Watergunner has 5 pierce instead of 1.

- Watergunner's base price has been reduced from 800 to 750.

- Item 2 of the Sun Temple sacrifice can be earned in much higher amounts.

- Saving is now 100% functional! This is the main reason the game was ported to itch.io: to make a proper save system.

- The Watergunner is here! They can slow down enemies they hit.
